“One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, ‘Do you want to be healed?’” John 5:5-6 (ESV)
Today is “Good Friday”…the day Christians spend in remembrance of the day 2000 years ago when Jesus suffered and died on a cross for our sins.
It is the day that Jesus provided for our healing.
Not physical healing…but deep spiritual healing.
A healing in which the great divide between us and God is bridged and we can be reconciled back to the Father.
A healing in which the price for all our mistakes and sins is paid, and we are declared sons and daughters of the living God!
A healing that places within us a new self to be indwelled by none other than God Himself.
Jesus provided for this spiritual healing of all mankind. But since that day 2000 years ago, far too few have received that healing.
Jesus is still asking… “Do you want to be healed?”
Do you want to experience a real and vibrant relationship with your Creator?
Do you want to have everything that separates you from God put aside?
Do you want to live with freedom and deep joy?
If yes…the answer is simple.
John 1:12,13 tells us that everyone who receives Jesus, believing He is God and has paid the price for our sin, are given the right to become children of God.
Simply ask to receive Jesus into your life…confessing your sins to Him and placing your faith in Him as your Savior.
And you will become new.
You will become a child of God.
You will be indwelled by the Holy Spirit.
And you will begin to experience His freedom and joy.
If you’ve accepted the Lord sometime in the past, but your spiritual healing has stalled because you’ve ignored or disobeyed His leading…
He’s still asking… “Do you want to be healed?”
Recommit your life to following Him…and He will lead you to spiritual healing.
Today we remember that Jesus gave everything for us.
And He’s still asking… “Do you want to be healed?”
Prayer: Lord thank You for dying for me and providing the way for me to be healed!
