It is one thing to believe in God…but real faith expresses itself in action. And I don’t mean the action of going to church.
Real faith recognizes that there is an eternity that follows death.
Real faith understands that this eternity is divided into a place of inexpressible joy…and a place of unspeakable pain.
Real faith knows that what determines the place every living soul spends eternity is the acceptance or denial of the sacrificial death of Christ as payment for their sins.
Real faith desires that every soul be presented with this decision before entering eternity.
Real faith cares passionately about the lost and is motivated to reach out to them and bring them to faith.
Real faith longs to grow into maturity.
Real faith seeks to bring others to maturity.
That’s why real faith is active…by definition it must be active.
Real faith will go to the lost.
Real faith will grow into maturity.
Real faith will help others grow into maturity.
James knew this…that’s why he wrote that faith that wasn’t active…wasn’t real.
If you are reading this and have verbally expressed faith for some time, but you’ve not yet gone to the lost…you’ve not progressed in putting off your sin…you’ve not been active in helping others grow…then I’m sorry…your faith isn’t real.
Jesus taught in John 15:2 that those who didn’t bear fruit would be taken away.
The Apostles knew this…lived it…and were willing to die for it.
If your faith isn’t real…just admit it…and make it real today.
Confess your sin and that you’ve been living a lie.
He’ll forgive you.
Place your trust in Jesus and commit to living your life for Him.
He’ll send you the Holy Spirit…and your life will never be the same…
Prayer: Lord show me the fruit You want me to bear and empower me to accomplish the works You have for me.
